Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift of “spirit and song” with me and the children of the Portland After-School Tennis & Education, Inc. …As my 15 year old granddaughter would say, “YOU ROCK, MELODY!”
Interactive character-building concerts, early childhood preschool and Elementary School ages.
*This concert is also available for adult gatherings of hope, caring and love.
In the Peace Begins with Me children’s concerts, interaction is encouraged through meaningful songs, poetry, storytelling, the Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, the Gong, multicultural puppets and multicultural instruments. I invite the entire group to become my Peace Begins with Me Earth Singers, Dancers and Peace Begins with Me Band. My original “WAFT” approach is woven throughout the concert….WORDS, ACTIONS, FEELINGS and THOUGHTS, raising consciousness and reminders about the value of BEING peace, and how personal actions create ripples of peace throughout the world.
Themes: Respect for self, each other and the earth, inclusiveness, nonviolent conflict-resolution, effective nonverbal and verbal communication, caring, manners, sharing, listening and “The Golden Rule” motto of living life with love.
My original music is user-friendly and easy to sing, and for younger groups, storytelling that focuses on self-esteem, manners and “we’re different yet the same” themes are integrated.

While ringing the Singing Bowls, I also weave in meaningful quotations from World Leaders, poetry, and invites the audience in reciting her Peace Begins with Me Pledge.
During the song, Peace is a Verb, I invite children and/or adults to share their own Peace Begins with Me Promise…something they are willing to change, shift and transform in order to help make a better world, one person at a time.
All content is based on the ages in which I am reaching and teaching/performing.
This concert is non-political
“Cheryl Melody has a gift and a deep love for humanity that beams through. Every action is done with a mindfulness that is full of compassion and care. We could all learn from her way of honoring our children and honoring life. A beautiful soul and a charming performer.” Mich Atamian
The children adored Cheryl Melody’s music at our recent school event.
She captured them from the very beginning with her music and warmth.
The hour went by quickly as children were engaged in singing, dancing
and even playing hand held instruments. Cheryl incorporated puppets
and other beautiful props into her stories and songs, conveying
messages of peace, love, and joy. We hope to see her again soon!

*“PEACE BEGINS WITH ME” is also the title for a 3 act school musical play that children can perform (elementary schools and middle schools, with teacher direction). For more information, please log onto the button that says “Musical Peace Play.”
