Music is healing, powerful and has staying power! I am a children’s musician, and also integrate music with adults, combining song, sound, healing, chants, positive words. I work as an ARTIST FOR ALZHEIMER’S volunteer, and even though people are forgetting time and space and memories…they DO remember a song they sang in childhood, and people who have played the piano STILL remember how to play the piano till the last breath! So Sing! Dance! Play and instrument! …Do it for yourself right now, and give children the gift of music, and know that the power of music is lasting and deep, and effects the brain-body in positive amazing endless forever ways.

The words in children’s music are important. They are vital in nurturing a child’s delicate growing being. Every lyric in each song in all of my 7 CDs for children are purposeful and conscious. Words can encourage self-esteem, potential, creativity, and most of all enhance character-building and values of tolerance, sharing, caring, kindness, patience, respect for each other and the earth. Before sharing a poem, chant, song or story with a child, take another eagle eye look with your eyes and your heart, and ask yourself if the text is good for children from inside-out. Today…Hum a little hum, like Winnie the Pooh says to do. Do it for yourself as well as for your child and consider it part of childrens music. It will energize you and the child, relax, and actually massage your child and you from inside-out. Any tune will do, a familiar one or a made up one, but it is actually part of honoring your voice and that energy center, allowing your energy to rev up, exercise our vocal muscle and feel a sense of joy and wellness…all through Winnie the Pooh’s advise. Thanks Winnie! That is my tip for today for childrens music as well as for adult music making. Enjoy! Cheryl Melody award winning childrens music
